Hello all!!!
Steve has requested a bio, so here we go!!!!!
Music, where it all started! : age2 the Beatles!!! I am the youngest
of 5 in my family so I was exposed to a variety of tunes from
Streisand to Iron Maiden! from Jazz to classical. Thank
goodness no show tunes!! I have always wanted to play every
instrument so I started with trombone because of "Chicago"
& Blood,Sweat & Tears. From then it was trumpet to drums all
the while trying to learn guitar (I find guitar difficult, also
keys). I played bass for about 2 years with Mike in another
band. |
I haven't
played horn since I got married 11 years now, but its still in my
heart. I sing with the same instincts as if I were still
playing the horn. I did attend Berklee during '85 - '86. I
worked 3 jobs to go, paid for the first semester, my mom paid for
the second and the teachers went on strike!!!! Nice!!!! I
concentrated on drums while I worked with my dad as a finish
carpenter, played in a lot of bands on drums (never sang). 1999
started singing a little bit, with the 2nd child on the way covered
vocal for my wife (Becky) while she was on bed rest. Caught the vox
bug then!! I am still learning every day. I can't say that
I've mastered all the instruments but I have enjoyed every minute of
music. Current influences: Spock's Beard, Flower Kings,
Kansas, Yes, Rush, everything prog. Others; Toad the Wet
Sprocket, Verve Pipe, Guess Who, Jars of Clay (so little space).
Vocal influences: Steve Walsh, Neil Morse. I will include more
later. E.
